The procedure to enable dark mode in the app differs depending on your mobile phone and operating system. Through the dark mode, we can use the applications and the phone without straining our eyes.
Dark mode does other things, too, like decrease battery life and make the screen easier to see. But don't worry, there is a simple solution to switch from normal to dark mode without experiencing Snapchat app appearance. This article will explain what dark mode is, how it is applied on Snapchat, and what other apps have this feature.
What is dark mode?
Dark mode makes the app totally black for ease of using the app. This feature peaked in 2019 when almost all software manufacturers focused on introducing dark mode to their apps. But if there's one rogue app that didn't follow industry standards, it's Snapchat. This is a popular photo-centric texting platform that many users use to keep Snap Streaks with their contacts. Snapchat has finally introduced its dark mode to iOS, with the intention of Android support coming later.
Today we will discover the steps to activate the dark mode on Snapchat. To have this feature, follow the instructions below:
● Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Screen adaptations – Activate “Night”.
● You can then simply swipe up from the bottom of any Snapchat image to access the options menu, tweak the settings to dark mode, and then click Save Changes.
If your app is already in dark mode, but you want to go back to normal mode, go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Display accommodations - Turn off Night. Finally, press the Save Changes button.
Revealing dark mode on Snapchat
Although the Snapchat app on iPhone comes with a native option to allow or stop dark mode, the setting is lacking on the Android app. Therefore, many Android users have been wondering how to achieve dark mode on Snapchat on their mobile. If you are one of these people, you have come to the right place.
Among the latest updates to Snapchat is the addition of dark mode. This feature makes the app completely black so your eyes can rest. To turn off dark mode on Snapchat, go to settings menu -> general -> Accessibility -> Display accommodations -> Turn off night and click Save Changes.

Enable Dark Mode on Snapchat without App Appearance On Any Android Mobile Phone
Experimental FuntouchOS/ColorOS app forced dark mode to enable dark mode on Snapchat for selected Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus models. For OnePlus mobile devices, please note that it will need to be a ColorUS-based build of OxygenOS.
1. Go to the Settings menu then click on Display & Brightness. Then tap on dark mode settings to edit dark theme settings on your device.
2. Click on “Dark mode for third-party apps” and you can see a list of apps that support the forced dark theme.
3. Find Snapchat in the list of supported apps and allow the toggle. After the confirmation message appears, select Enable to allow dark mode on Snapchat.
4. open your Snapchat and enjoy the new themes.
This implementation looks much better than the forced system-wide dark mode enabled through Developer Options.
Enable Dark Mode on Snapchat without App Appearance On Any Android Mobile Phone
As of now, the app does not include an official dark theme on Android yet. We will update this section whenever the app announces dark mode for Android users. However, the closest option Android users have right now is to turn on the Forced System Wide Dark Mode option from Developer Options.
Even if this option isn't ideal, it's still better than staring at Android's current blinding light mode. So, if you are interested in enabling dark mode on Snapchat for Android, here are the instructions:
1. Open the Settings menu and click About phone. Scroll down until you find the build number and click on it 7 times. This is how you can enable developer mode on your Android phone.
2. Go back to the Settings menu and go to System -> Developer options to see the developer options.
3. From here, allow the Override Force Dark toggle. This is how you successfully allowed forced dark mode on your Android phone. In the future, you'll see Android invert colors in apps that, like Snapchat, don't support native dark mode.
4. Tap on the APK Mirror link and click on the Download APK button to download Snapchat version 10.72.0.0 on your mobile device. You may not be able to use the latest features if you adopt this method, but this is a compromise that you will need to make to achieve the dark theme on Snapchat instantly.
5. The forced dark mode toggle allows you to manually enable dark mode on Snapchat for Android devices. The text will be legible without comprehension problems.
Note: Unfortunately, the latest versions of Snapchat do not react to the forced dark theme and the app remains in light mode. You will need to download and install the oldest version of Snapchat from APK Mirror.
So this is the only solution that can bring you the dark theme on Snapchat on your Android phone right away.
Smart color inversion/invert
Color or Smart Inversion is an accessibility feature available on smart phone Android and iPhone mobiles. When this feature is enabled, it automatically inverts the color avoiding items that were previously in dark mode. Smart or color inversion is perfect for people with disabilities and those who cannot see properly. It can be used to invert the colors of all applications.
The reason why you should use this feature is because some apps are brighter and because of this the default dark mode does not work as we would like.
